One of the most popular shonen series of the modern day, Jujutsu Kaisen features an inventive and incredibly detailed power system that centers around cursed energy — the ability to use negative emotions as fuel for jujutsu techniques. In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, no sorcerer is regarded with more esteem and approbation than Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer of the current era who sees himself as unrivaled by anyone in the world.

Both due to inheriting his clan's strongest techniques at birth and honing his jujutsu skills for his entire life, Gojo has ascended above all other sorcerers and curse users, his immense, near-infinite power matched only by his ambitiousness and pride. It is yet undetermined if Gojo can be called the strongest sorcerer in the series, yet his selection of techniques is, without a doubt, one of the most impressive of all JJK characters.

And since he's one of the most valuable combatants in the story, we have updated this article with some more relevant information.

12 Gojo Can Cast A Curtain Like Most Jujustu Sorcerers

Gojo's First Usage: Episode 25, "Hidden Inventory"

As the strongest sorcerer in the world, Gojo can use all the basic level jujutsu spells without any real problems. For instance, the barrier technique known as Curtain is capable of blocking out both ordinary humans and jujutsu sorcerers, depending on the situation. This spell produces a massive dome, inside which day becomes night, allowing cursed spirits to emerge. Chanting the incantation begins the process of a fluid substance pouring from the sky, eventually becoming a dome, or a half-sphere.

Those beyond the Curtain will be unable to perceive exactly what's happening within — normal people won't be able to tell the difference, whereas sorcerers can see the opaque black covering of the dome. Gojo has used Curtain during Yuta's initial mission, but the spell has also been used against him. The villains cast a Curtain to keep Gojo out during the Goodwill Event. This tactic succeeded for a while before Gojo managed to dispel it from the outside. Since nearly everyone can use Curtain, however, this spell is arguably the weakest in Gojo's arsenal.

11 Gojo Can Hit at Least Four Consecutive Black Flashes

One of the main reasons for regarding Satoru Gojo as the strongest sorcerer in the world is the immeasurable amounts of cursed energy he possesses. Paired with the impeccable control he has over his cursed energy output, this evidently allows him to use Black Flash — a type of amplified strike strengthened through cursed energy that lets the user distort space.

Black Flash is a technique that no sorcerer can use at will, even those as powerful as Gojo and Sukuna. Yet, he has managed to use it four times during his battle with Sukuna in the Shinjuku Showdown arc, with one of his Black Flashes hitting the King of Curses directly. He also used Black Flash successfully against Mahoraga and Merged Beast Agito. The greatest thing about Black Flash, however, is that it subsequently allows the caster to fight at 120% of their power.

Mainly used by those unable to manifest their own domains, anti-domain techniques are a useful tool that allows one to counter the guaranteed-hit effects of a Domain Expansion. The Big Three Families of Sorcerers have their own anti-domain secret arts, the one passed down in the Gojo Clan being the Falling Blossom Emotion technique. This ability can also be used with a sword, boosting the weapon's attack strength considerably.

Usually, Gojo doesn't have to resort to using anti-domain measures due to his immense strength. However, in his battle against Sukuna, he utilized Falling Blossom Emotion, which can supposedly counterattack a domain's guaranteed hit. Unfortunately, Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine was too great for even such an advanced technique to absorb all the damage, only succeeding in weakening the attack.

9 Gojo Can Teleport Using Unknown Means

Gojo's First Usage: Episode 7, "Assault"

Although the series never specifies what allows Gojo to do so, he is capable of using teleportation himself and others across both long and short distances. It is assumed that Gojo teleports by employing the space-bending properties of his inherited techniques, Limitless and Six Eyes, and compressing space to cross distances instantaneously.

Nevertheless, teleportation remains one of the most enigmatic techniques in Gojo's roster, as neither the maximum distance nor the specific conditions of its utilization are ever explicitly explained. He doesn't use it while fighting Sukuna, however, largely because his Limitless technique is too burnt out to teleport away.

8 Gojo Rarely Employs The New Shadow Style: Simple Domain

Gojo's First Usage: Chapter 226, "Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 4"

New Shadow Style: Simple Domain is a relatively basic ability, infamously known as "the domain for the weak." It can be used by sorcerers who haven't learned to manifest their own Domain Expansions, thereby allowing them a small chance of victory against opponents with full-fledged domains. Like Falling Blossom Emotion, Simple Domain is also an anti-domain ability supposedly capable of negating an opponent's guaranteed-hit from their respective Domain.

Overall, Simple Domains are quite inefficient, as powerful Domain Expansions can effortlessly neutralize them. When used by Gojo, however, Simple Domain could bypass the incessant violence of Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine long enough for Gojo to use the reverse cursed technique and restore a bit more of his burnt-out Limitless. Although it was ultimately fruitless, the battle could have gone either way.

7 Gojo's Use of the Reversed Cursed Technique Is Exceptional

One of the most complex cursed techniques to master, the reversed cursed technique allows its user to change negative energy into positive energy to heal wounds and regrow body parts. Even for Gojo, the intricacies of learning the reversed cursed technique were impossible to grasp until the battle with Toji Fushiguro almost ended his life.

Both Gojo and Sukuna were constantly using reverse cursed technique throughout their battle, further highlighting the universal usefulness of this ability.

An inherited technique uniquely manifested in rare sorcerers born in the Gojo Clan, Six Eyes is one of two abilities that made Satoru exceptional at birth. Visually identified as a pair of exceptionally bright, glowing blue eyes, Six Eyes gifts its user with otherworldly perception, allowing them to see cursed energy with a level of detail unavailable to all other sorcerers.

The amplified precision of Six Eyes also applies to other things, including Gojo's inhumanly good eyesight. There's also evidence to suggest that Gojo can perceive other vectors through his unique vision, including velocity and weight. All things considered, Six Eyes' most useful asset is the ability to reduce cursed energy consumption to near-zero, which lets Gojo keep his Limitless technique active at all times. Since the Six Eyes is much less effective without Limitless, it ranks in the middle of this list.

5 Limitless & Infinity Gift Gojo Control Over Space

Gojo's First Usage: Episode 2, "For Myself"

Another inherited technique passed down in the Gojo Clan, Limitless grants Satoru near-absolute control over space. The first human in four hundred years to be born with both Limitless and Six Eyes, Gojo is the only sorcerer who can truly take advantage of this technique’s potential. The neutral form of Limitless is referred to as Infinity, which acts as a constantly active barrier between Gojo and all other things.

As seen during his battle with Jogo in Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Infinity slows down everything that attempts to hit Gojo to the point that the strike never makes an impact, hitting the infinitely condensed space between the attacker and Gojo instead. He can also expand his Infinity outward, allowing him to crush opponents into pulp with the sheer overwhelming power of the Limitless.

4 Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue Is Gojo's Base Attack Form of Limitless

Gojo's First Usage: Episode 20, "Nonstandard"

Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue is the first form of attack Gojo masters using Limitless. By amplifying the flow of cursed energy in a strike, Gojo can essentially combust his target from the inside out using Blue, obliterating everything in the path of the technique. Blue can also be used to attract objects to one another, essentially colliding the space between them as if affected by an impossibly strong magnet.

Like all techniques connected to Limitless, Blue requires great precision and is incredibly difficult to master. Yet, Gojo has learned to use it so efficiently that he can unleash multiple Blues at once. That said, Toji Fushiguro was completely unfazed by Gojo's Blue, forcing him to unleash an advanced version known as Cursed Technique Lapse - Maximum Cursed Energy Output: Blue.

3 Cursed Technique Reversal: Red Combines Limitless With the Reversed Cursed Technique

Upon having a near-death experience and learning the reversed cursed technique, Gojo found a way to apply it to Limitless, resulting in the creation of the Cursed Technique Reversal: Red. This ability reverses Limitless' inherent attraction power, pushing everything in its range away with immense destructive force. Fundamentally, Red has an effect opposite to Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue, yet the damage it causes is over double that of Blue.

Gojo's supreme control over Limitless allows him to use Red on both large scales and to strike individual targets, all while suffering no negative effects on his stamina. Some instances managed to make a small difference, while others didn't even leave a scratch on the King of Curses.

2 Hollow Technique: Purple Is the Ultimate Form of Gojo's Limitless

Gojo's First Usage: Episode 20, "Nonstandard"

Combining Blue's power of attraction and Red's power of repulsion, Hollow Technique: Purple lets Gojo use Limitless to its destructive absolute. The blast of Hollow Purple effectively annihilates everything in its path, using a blast of imaginary mass for obliteration. Gojo used Hollow Purple for the first time during his final confrontation with Toji Fushiguro, ending the assassin with this secret technique.

Gojo also used it against Hanami during the Goodwill Event, but the special grade cursed spirit barely managed to escape with their life. It can be argued that in the absence of Mahoraga's intervention, Gojo would've been able to overpower the King of Curses with this technique.

Considered the ultimate form of jujutsu sorcery, a Domain Expansion is a technique that locks its user and their opponents within a barrier that amplifies the user's techniques greatly, guaranteeing that every attack they activate will hit. As the strongest sorcerer, Gojo has mastered his domain, Unlimited Void, to capacity, its power matching that of Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine.

Of all Gojo's techniques, Unlimited Void remains his trump card — only the strongest sorcerer in history, Sukuna, was able to withstand its effects.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen follows the evolution of Yuji Itadori, a boy who swallowed a cursed talisman - the finger of a demon - and became cursed himself. He enters a special school for sorcerers to learn to control his new abilities and gather the rest of the demon's parts, so he can consume them and then be eliminated.
